water dream
« on: September 13, 2006, 08:25:15 PM »

This dream was long and involved, and I don't remember it all, but the part I do remember is  a central point, and water waves radiating out from it. The waves on the right hand side must have either hit something or another central point opened up to cause interfering wave in that corner. A very interesting pattern. During the dream, this pattern felt ominous, though it was beautiful. For the record.

a central point, reminds me of a seed, whether it be a word or a thought of the creative sort.

Was the water in a container or in a natural venue, like a lake or ocean?

The water was not in a container, but in a natural venue. I can not say whether it was in a lake or an ocean, since I don't remember anything that would give a reference point. No land, trees, boats or whitecaps. Like a drop in a puddle. but no ground, or street either. Very puzzling.

The other night, I saw the program on the MegaTsunami, and in it, they had computer models of the earth, and the tsunami waves. When they showed the Pacific Ocean and the island of Hawaii, and the computer-generated tsunami waves on that part of the globe, it was exactly what I had seen in this dream! Wow! So that's  what it  was. I never realized the Pacific Ocean was so empty.

djazz.....so you are saying the center point in your dream looked like Hawaii on the water radiated out from?........ as compared to what you saw on t.v. that is?
was not sure how to phrase this question....hope you understand....and thank you!

p.s. I have thought for sometime of Hawaii Islands like the center of the ring of fire.....like a tonsil in a big mouth.....weird imagination huh?

okay, changed my mind after reading MC's recent dreams on lady with lava bowls......now I see a navel in the island of Hawaii out there after reading stuff about Pele. Like a belly button.......the center.....and that is what you saw.....a center point....okay, now to contemplate the navel...."omphaloskepsis".

Contemplating one’s navel as an aid to meditation.
This word seems to be relatively new, at least the Merriam-Webster “Word of the Day” column claims it to have been invented only in the 1920s. It turns up in only a few dictionaries and seems to be a word that survives more for the chance to show off one’s erudition than as a real aid to communication. If so, this article is a further perpetuation of its unreal status. It is formed from two Greek words, omphalos, “navel, boss, hub”, and skepsis, “the act of looking; enquiry”. The former turns up in words such as omphalotomy, “cutting of the umbilical cord”, in the related omphalopsychic for one of a group of mystics who practised gazing at the navel as a means of inducing hypnotic reverie, and omphalomancy, an ancient form of divination in which the number of children a woman would bear was determined from counting the knots in her umbilical cord at birth.

Actually, at the time of the dream, I was totally focused on the interesting wave pattern that radiated out, seemed to wrap around something, bounced off the land, and intersected with other waves coming from other angles. However, the initial point seemed to be only one point, a center point, as you describe. I had not thought to superimpose that image onto a world globe to see if it would fit, but the computer-generated models on the program that were centered on the Hawaii Islands depicted perfectly what I had seen. So, in that respect, I would accept the Hawaiian Islands as the center  point for this  coming occurrance.

PS. I love the pictures of Pele, as the lava of the volcano. Still, she is very destructive, so I would not want her for a neighbor!

djazz, I am not surprised to hear you say that in regards to Hawaii and what you saw in your dreams.......something about it has been on my mind lately too. Also, the Captain Cook theme keeps surfacing for me.  I visited a couple of the islands once....but not the big Island where Pele is.  It does feel ominous way out there in the midst of the sea.  I snorkled in a dormant volcano while there.....and went up on the one in Maui, Mount Haleakalah (sp?), too foggy to see anything though, could not hardly see the hand on the end of my arm outstretched. Memories of my visit coming back now, pondering.... Thank you as always for sharing!

I have never been to Hawaii, but a friend and I researched it for a Science unit one year, and found pictures on the Internet that had been taken by the Kraffts of one of the Hawaiian volcanoes. They labelled it "Pele dancing", and the form of a woman was clearly seen in the lava flow. Very nice! (Sometimes I wish I could take pictures like that!)

The program I was watching was not focused on volcanoes, so much as the possible tsunami that would be generated by an underground earthquake, which of course, could be related to volcanic activity, though that part, if mentioned, was not stressed.

In light of the discussion of volcanoes, I wondered about the Yellowstone movie rerun and the documentary about "When Yellowstone Erupts" put on the Science Channel over the weekend. Just a hmm. moment, there.

PS. Eve, is all the ruckus about what the Pope said related in  any way to your Pope dream?

JUst a note: Last night I has the best sleep that I have had in weeks. And I didn't have any nightmares. So maybe whatever it is, is ready to manifest?

I am glad you shared that djazz.  I slept well last night too, felt more restful than in some time.  I did have some abstract sort of dreams later this morning after I woke up and went back to sleep....... but not like the ones I have been having in the past few weeks, not major funky weird, but odd.  It sure seems like some of the elements of our dreams are showing up and there are some obvious syncrhonicities.  Yeah,  I would lean that way........something manifesting soon.
